Uche Uchendu media career began at the digital radio station BBC Radio 1Xtra, which he helped to launch in 2002. Producing a diverse range of radio shows and developing new presenters including Mistajam, Bailey, Twin B, DJ Target, Ace & Vis who went on to win the Sony Radio Gold for there Lunchtime Forever Show in 2004. Through continued work with 1Xtra he has produced many international shows for the network in Spain, Jamaica, and Germany. He has also made many radio music documentaries for 1Xtra including The 30 Most Influential Hip Hop Albums of All Time, Reinforced Records: The Godfathers Of Drum Bass & The Story Of Pendulum for Radio 1.

Uche has also worked as an A&R manger & music promoter, working alongside film maker Camilla Robinson to launch the weekly music cabaret night Skint & Minted at Filthy’s McNasty’s in London; discovering & supporting bands such as the Libertines and Johnny Borrell who went onto form Razorlight.

Uche’s reputation for being music obsessive is so big that in 2011 he began TKIAP with the aim to discover music that pushes your boundaries.

Uche is a music producer at Radio 1 & 1Xtra. He has worked and developed a diverse range of presenters including Mistajam, DJ Target, Sarah Jane Crawford and many others, currently Uche works on the Zane Lowe show.

Uche also runs the influential music blog This Kid Is A Problem, set up at the end of 2010 to  shine a light on new & emerging music from the UK and across the world. By the end of  2012 his blog was recognised by the UK music industry publication Record Of The Day for best music blog.
